Parish Meeting: Nov. 7, 2004
Parish Meeting with the Feasibility Committee
On Nov. 7th we held a meeting for the entire parish during which the Feasibility Committee commented on three options for building or renovating a church.  These options were sent out ahead of time to the entire parish along with an invitation to attend the meeting and offer input.  With the presentation that day, the committee suggested the option of “Site C” which involves purchasing land north of St. Anthony cemetery, behind such buildings as the Picket Fence, Chimney Specialists and P.A. McGuire.  With the pros and cons as well as the cost all being factored in, the parishioners in attendance were in consensus with that option.  There will be a formal recommendation to the Parish Council to have them recommend this option.  Next would be taking this plan to the Diocesan Building Committee.  We will begin looking to form a Building Committee, work towards having schematic drawings for the site, begin looking at a capital campaign to name some of the steps that lie ahead.  The mandate that came from the Nov. 7th meeting was an important step in the process.  Certainly, there are many more ahead but we are now focused in one direction and the excitement will continue to build.
